Now that you've completed your Safe Zone training session, stay active in the Safe Zone community. Here are some other things you can do to support the LGBTQ+ community:
Check out the LGBTQ+ resources in Diversity Advocacy.
Come to a PRIDE meeting (Wednesdays 7 p.m. in the LGBT/Queer Studies and Services Institute).
Display your Safe Zone sticker and wear your button proudly every day!
Check out the Resource library.
Attend or help out with some of PRIDE's annual events like: National Coming Out Day, The Drag Show at the Bone Student Center, LGBTQ+ weeks focusing on Bisexual and Transgender people, National Day of Silence, the Homecoming Parade, cultural dinners and many other events!
Volunteer for the McLean County AIDS Task Force.
Come to a PFLAG meeting.
March with PFLAG in the Labor Day parade in Bloomington.
Encourage other faculty and staff to participate in Safe Zone training.
Find out what LGBTQ+ resources are available in town.
Attend the Midwest Bisexual Lesbian Gay Transgender Ally College Conference.
