Student Discipline

As members of the Illinois State community, Illinois State University expects its students to act as responsible members and citizens within both the campus and local community. In the event a situation arises in which the Student Code of Conduct is broken, Community Rights & Responsibilities, a unit of the Dean of Students Office, administers the student disciplinary process for Illinois State University. This includes:

  • all violations of University Regulations, whether taking place on or off campus, involving both individual students and student organizations.
  • acts of social as well as academic misconduct.

All students at Illinois State are responsible for reviewing the Student Code of Conduct and being familiar with University expectations for student behavior. In addition, Illinois State faculty and staff are responsible for referring alleged violations in accordance with established University procedures.

Also, view the Conflict Resolution section and Conflict Resolution Forms and Resources to learn more about the disciplinary process.
