Fraternity and Sorority Life, a unit of the Dean of Students Office, supports Illinois State fraternities and sororities and their governing councils by assisting with academic achievement, leadership development, community service, and membership recruitment.

ISU's fraternities and sororities make an important contribution to life on campus by providing leadership opportunities for students and service to the community.

Since the first Greek-letter society was formed in 1776 at the College of William and Mary, sororities and fraternities have played a vibrant part of campus life. Students who choose to become part of a social fraternities and sororities will have the opportunity to be part of a well-rounded, co-curricular experience.

Fraternities and sororities at ISU have been a large part of campus life since the 1970s. Our organizations constantly work together to promote the highest ideals and standards.  Each fraternity and sorority is unique in its own way, but all offer the opportunity to experience leadership, develop high academic standards, social activities, community service, and philanthropic projects, and most of all, lifelong friends.
