Organizations
Each Greek organization is a part of a council which governs the participating organizations. The governing councils at Illinois State include:
The Interfraternity Council at Illinois State University is comprised of 15 men's organizations. The Interfraternity Council participates in recruitment during the first month of each semester.
The National Pan-Hellenic Council at Illinois State University is comprised of traditionally African-American fraternities and sororities. The NPHC organizations perform their membership intake at various times throughout the school year, depending upon the various organization preferences.
The Panhellenic Association at Illinois State University is comprised of 12 women's organizations. Most organizations of the Panhellenic Association participate in formal recruitment during the fall semester. Some, but not all, organizations of the Panhellenic Association host informal recruitment during the spring semester.
