Organizations
Joining a fraternity or sorority is an excellent way for you to be an active part of the campus community and Find Your Way at Illinois State University!
ISU is home to three councils, each with their own unique way of recruiting new members to join the organizations. Below is specific information about each of the councils: the Interfraternity Council (IFC), the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC).
The National Pan-Hellenic Council chapters do membership intake on an individual basis. There is not council based process for joining NPHC. To join any of the NPHC chapters will must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA from Illinois State University and be at least at sophomore standing academically. Chapters may select not to preform intake during any given year.
The College Panhellenic Council hosts Fall Formal Recruitment in September each year. During this process women will meet 10 of the 12 sororities of the College Panhellenic Council.
The Fall Formal Recruitment process is the only time women are guaranteed to have the opportunity to join these 10 chapters. While some chapters will do an informal recruitment in the spring semester, many of the chapters only recruitment during the formal recruitment process.
The College Panhellenic Council is also home to two associate member chapters.
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) will host recruitment in the fall and the in the spring.
