Make a child’s wish come true this holiday season. Holiday Helper provides gifts and parties for over 200 children annually in the local community. For more information, contact Leadership and Service.
“Adopt” a child through the Holiday Helper program. Participants "adopting" a child will purchase gifts based on the child's top three wants and needs (valuing approximately $40) and return the items to Leadership and Service. Visit the Leadership and Service unit starting November 1 to "adopt" a child from the community.
Holiday Helper parties are held to interact with children in the community and to distribute the gifts collected through Holiday Helper. Parties will be held on December 8 at four local community agencies in Bloomington/Normal: Boys and Girls Club, Center for Youth and Family Solutions, Western Avenue Community Center, and UNITY Community Center. One hundred volunteers are needed for the parties to help children with a variety of activities, such as games, sports, and arts and crafts. Registration begins November 1 in the Leadership and Service office.
Volunteers assist with wrapping the gifts donated through Holiday Helper. Supplies for wrapping will be provided. Wrapping takes place the evenings of December 5 and 6 from 6-9pm in the Bone Student Center, Prairie Room Center. Registration begins
November 1 in the Leadership and Service office.
