Leaders of Social Change (LOSC), formerly called the Civil Rights Movement Trip, is a great way for students to find their way and make a difference in the community. During the LOSC trip, students examine leadership through the lens of social justice movements. Movements that may be featured could relate to such issues as race, gender, sexuality, and/or disabilities.
The five-day trip held annually in January, includes touring a musuem, participating in a community service project, and listening to guest speakers and activists. Students will be able to reflect with others in both small and large groups. This will give individuals the opportunity to connect with each other and discuss how they view different social issues.
LOSC challenges students to define what leadership and social justice mean to them personally and get to know others with similar passions and values.
