Registered Student Organizations Funding Opportunities

 

There are two funds established through student fees to assist registered student organizations (RSOs) in their work and mission.

 

Opportunity Fund

The Opportunity Fund is used when requesting funds to support programs and/or student organization travel during the current year. RSO Sports Clubs, please contact Student Recreation Services at (309) 438-5106 for information on the fee request process for sports clubs.

 

Program Fund

The Program Fund is used when requesting funds to support programs and/or student organization travel occurring during the next year. This process occurs once a year at the beginging of the spring semester. RSO Sports Clubs, please contact Student Recreation Services at (309) 438-5106 for information on the fee request process for sports clubs.

The RSO Program Fund for fiscal year 2013 (for programs and/or travel occurring between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013) is now closed.

If your RSO is interested in requesting funding for an event or travel to occur prior to July 1, 2012 please utilize the Opportunity Fund.

 

Changes to Funding Allocations

RSOs that received funding or need to move money from one line item to another should use these forms. Forms must be submitted to the Student Involvement Center to be approved by the fee board.

 

Other Funding Opportunities

  • RSO Team Building Grant - provides up to $300 for registered student organizations (RSOs) to participate in team building activities provided through Recreation Services.  Dates for the activity will be scheduled on a case-by-case basis. Applications for the grant should be submitted to the Student Involvement Center at least two weeks in advance of the requested date. RSOs receiving funding are responsible for ensuring members attend the team building activity.
  • Civic Engagement Awards - Illinois State University's Senior Professionals organization and the Minor in Civic Engagement and Responsibility program have teamed up to provide financial support for civic engagement projects on campus.  Registered Student Organizations and in-course projects aimed at promoting civic engagement may be eligible to receive up to $1,000 in funding through the Civic Engagement Award program.  Applications are now available and are due April 20. More information and application forms may be found on the American Democracy Website.
  • Multi-Ethnic Cultural and Co-Curricular Programming Advisory Committee (MECCPAC) - is a diversity initiative offered through the Dean of Students Office. The committee reviews applications to provide matching co-sponsorship funds up to $2000 for cultural, educational, and multi-ethnic programs that help build awareness and appreciation within the Illinois State community.
