When you look around, do you see a world that reflects your deeply held values around justice, freedom, dignity and equity? If you answered no and you’re ready to do something about it, this workshop is for you!
Witnessing injustice around you can be frustrating… to say the least. Witnessing injustice and not knowing what to do about it (besides tweeting or changing your profile pic) is even more frustrating.
If you want to begin to see a world that truly reflects your values, you need to have not only the passion, but the “know-how” for bringing people together to fight for a shared vision. That’s what community organizing is all about!
Join Diversity Advocacy as we welcome guest presenters from YWCA McLean County as they offer participants a chance to learn about community organizing theory, analyze successful strategies of past and current social movements, and acquire the practical skills needed to build an organizing campaign from scratch.
Lunch is provided. If you need special accommodations to fully participate, contact Diversity Advocacy at 309-438-8968. Please allow sufficient time to arrange the accommodation. Space is limited so please register.
