From their first day at Illinois State as new students, to their walk across the stage at Commencement, the Dean of Students Office assists students throughout their collegiate journey.
Through a variety of services, solutions, and support, the Dean of Students Office helps students apply what they learn in the classroom to real-life practice. Whether they are interested in joining or starting a registered student organization, participating in service learning experiences, or seeking to develop their leadership skills, the Dean of Students Office helps students find their way as they discover their passion at Illinois State.
The Dean of Students Office also serves as a student support network by providing advocacy, problem resolution, and crisis intervention for those times when additional support is needed.
Community Rights and Responsibilities helps students find their way by providing services, solutions and support to aid students’ understanding of responsibility and citizenship within the Illinois State University and Bloomington-Normal communities. Diversity Advocacy helps underrepresented students find their way at Illinois State through a variety of resources, programs and activities. Diversity Advocacy works to facilitate a supportive campus environment in which underrepresented students can flourish academically and socially. From their first day at Illinois State to their final day at Commencement, Programming cooridnates the programs for student transition into and from the University inlcuding Graduation Services, and Welcome Week.
