The Dean of Students Office is filled with opportunities to get involved and make an impact on campus. By participating in leadership programs, students can take the next step in developing their leadership skills and capacities on campus and beyond. In this leadership session, students learn about student leadership programs and opportunities available through the Dean of Student Office. Presentation time range: 25–45 minutes.

Discover Redbird Life
This presentation will teach new students that getting involved on campus is the best way to make their experience at Illinois State unforgettable. Through involvement in student organizations and participation in campus events, cultural activities, and leadership training programs, students can gain valuable skills, connect with other students, and make the most of their college experience. Discover campus life through the Dean of Students Office. Please allow a minimum of 20 minutes for this presentation. Maximum presentation could be 45 minutes.

Clifton StrengthsFinders Assessment
Learning our natural talents is the first step in cultivating our leadership strengths. In this leadership session, students will learn about strengths-based leadership and how to enhance their natural talents through the Clifton StrengthsFinders Assessment. The program fee to access Clifton Strengths Assessment is $12 per participant. Waivers are available through the Dean of Students Office at a first-come, first-served bases. Presentation time range: 60–90 minutes.

Off-Campus Students: Hosting A Responsible Party
Illinois State University and the Town of Normal aren’t trying to stop students from having fun, but there are things students can do to host safe and responsible parties. This presentation provides information on Town ordinances, risk management, and neighbor relations. Before you host a party, use this information to minimize any trouble. Please allow a minimum of 10 minutes. Maximum presentation time could be 30 minutes.

Off-Campus 101
Roommates. Rent. Leases. Moving and living off campus can feel overwhelming. This presentation provides an overview of best practices when searching for an apartment as well as information about living off campus and being a good neighbor. Please allow a minimum of 15 minutes for this presentation. Maximum presentation could be 50 minutes.

Understanding the study of leadership will help students build their capacity to be intersectional and transformational leaders. In this leadership session, students will learn about the concept of leadership through various leadership theories, frameworks, and philosophies. Presentation time range: 45–60 minutes

Know the Code (Code of Student Conduct)
Students at Illinois State University are expected to “Know the Code.” The “Code” refers to the Code of Student Conduct, which is the document that details the behavioral expectations (social and academic conduct) of all students at Illinois State University. This presentation provides an overview of the Code, student rights, and their responsibilities as Redbirds. Please allow a minimum of 30 minutes. Maximum presentation time could be 50 minutes.
