Lease FAQS
About the Students' Attorney services
-
Do you have real attorneys?
Yes. The Students' Attorney is a licensed attorney.
-
Can I just ask a simple question over the phone?
No. In order for our attorney to help you, an appointment must be made by the student with the question.
-
Will the attorney accompany me to court?
No. The attorney will counsel and advise you on the respective issue, but will not represent you in court. However, the attorney will attempt to facilitate the process of obtaining counsel at your own cost to represent you if needed.
-
Do you charge for your services?
No. This program is free as a service to the students; however, the program will not cover the payment of court costs, fees incidental to litigation, fines, penalties, or amounts of any judgments awarded against the student.
-
Who can use the service?
Any currently enrolled Illinois State University student who has a legal problem.
