Legal issues addressed
The issues handled most frequently by the Students' Attorney involve landlord/tenant matters, including evictions, security deposits, subleasing, and substandard housing. However, the office also provides guidance with traffic, DUI, and other ordinance violations. Assistance is also available with matters involving criminal law, domestic violence, wrongful termination, discrimination, sexual harassment, and more.
The Students' Attorney does not handle disputes involving the University, legal conflicts between students, or situations that relate to a private, profit-making activity.
