Parking and Transportation
On-Campus Parking
The use of any posted parking facilities (except metered spaces that do not require a special permit and pay lots during regulated hours) requires the purchase and display of an appropriate parking permit. Visitors arriving after office hours (8 a.m.-5 p.m.) must secure a temporary permit from the ISU Police Department in the Nelson Smith Building.

Evening and Weekend Parking
- Free public parking is allowed in the student commuter (green) or faculty/staff (red) surface parking lots weekdays after 7 p.m. until 4 a.m. and all-day Saturday and Sunday. Overnight parking is not permitted.
- Open parking does not include meters, pay lots, reserved spaces, reserved zones, business spaces, service spaces or blue residence hall student storage lots.
The Motorist Assistance Program (MAP) helps students, faculty, staff, and guests of the University who experience motor vehicle problems while parked on campus.
Off-Campus Parking
Heartland Parking If you are parking for more than 24 hours, purchase a multi-day or monthly parking permit. For details, visit the Heartland Parking Desk on the first floor of Uptown Station. For more information contact Heartland Parking at (309) 433-3445.
St. Paul Catholic Newman Center offers parking permits on their website.
First Normal Methodist Church also offers parking permits, for more information, call them at (309) 452-2096.
